Army Wives

I had fun hanging out with other army wives (and one finance tonight). It's great to hang out with other ladies that get it. And refreshing to get a night out without kiddos.
And I love the fact that I know my boys were well taken care of by their babysitter and had a fun night of their own too. Now to get a bunch of things done after church tomorrow to prepare for this upcoming week.

Glee

It's been a busy week. So tonight I'm spending some time watching some Glee before preparing for t-ball in the morning with the boys. Enjoy your weekend!

My Story: God is Faithful

What's your God story? Tonight at small group we talked about our story. So here is my short version of my relationship with God. My practical and easy version of my God story is that he is faithful. I was saved when I was four and have had my ups and downs through life but have always held onto my relationship with the Lord through thick and thin. I'm so thankful that I've had him by my side through it all. There are lots more I could say but that is the gist of it.

Tired

Nothing exciting today to share. I'm going to try and get a goodnight sleep.

I'm A Back Row Girl

So Zumba class is fun but I'm a back row girl because I'm not much of a dancer. This evening though there were a lot of new people there so I tried out the front row for something different. It was interesting but I think I'm more comfortable in the back. About ten minutes into the class a 40 year old guy walked in with his 12 year old son. That was when I knew I was right to like the back row. Then a few minutes later a lady fainted, next time I'm not messing with the norm, the back row it is for me. I prefer to go unnoticed in the back for my Zumba class.

A Night Out With the Girls

Tonight I went out with two of my girlfriends to celebrate my birthday. It was nice to have a night off from being Mommy and Therapist and just having some fun celebrating being me! Now time to get back to the rest of my week so I better get to bed so I'm well rested. It's going to be another busy and blessed week.

Easter and My Birthday

Happy Easter everybody. Today was a great day just being with family and the boys. I'm sad my hubby couldn't be here but he made the day very special by his gift and by just talking with me on the phone for a little bit. So glad that Jesus died and rose for me! It makes this life worth living every day and there is hope in a fallen world. Have a wonderful week everybody!

Wow, What a Day!

It's been another busy and productive day. I'm proud to say that I took the time and enjoyed my time with my boys today and spent some quality time with them. After cleaning this morning we headed to a local churchs' Easter blast! It was a lot of fun.
This evening we went to church and then I spent time getting preparation started for our Easter meal tomorrow. And the best part of my day, my dear friends came to visit and brought my birthday gift from my husband, a Nikon camera, yes it's true, I think I'm spoiled just a little from my love :)

Thunder and Rain and Decorating Eggs at Our House

Well today was eventful (and a pretty good eventful if I do say so myself). I got a mini birthday celebration at work from my co-worker and some of the kiddos I work with. Our kiddos sure do get spoiled with sugar when it's our birthdays. They love it when we have birthdays.
Then this evening the boys and I decorated eggs. They are at the age that they really enjoyed doing it themselves with very little help from me besides overseeing the mess was contained (which thankfully was kept to a minimal).
So excited it's the weekend. I'm sure it will go to fast but my family is going to enjoy this Easter weekend.

Battling My Four Year Old

I'm so tired of these daily battles with my four year old! He really is a sweet kid but I've been wanting to pull my hair out a lot lately while dealing with his shenanigans. Every evening he complains because he's starving but then doesn't want to eat very much at dinner. Breakfast seems to be a battle too, half the times he decides he doesn't want to eat because he doesn't want what I have to offer (cereal or yogurt most days).
Tonight he asked me for string cheese about an hour after dinner. I told him no. He actually had eaten a decent dinner and got an ice cream sandwich for dessert. Then when he's getting in his pj's I walk in the room and find him hiding string cheese behind his back.
Needless to say early to bed for him and not a happy Momma or 4 year old. I guess I can comfort myself that I'm dealing with this and trying to be consistent with the consequences and rewards so he'll be on a good start as he grows older. It's easier to deal with when they are younger than older but still.......! And my oldest one has been doing great this year at kindergarten after a little bit of a rough start in pre k and kindergarten. Momma's just tired and wants a bit of a break. I really just want to ship him to Daddy for a little bit and see how things go?! However, that's not an option so I'm just going to curl up with a good book and enjoy some me time. Goodnight all.

My Little Cleptic Gave Himself Away

Jacob likes to take things that do not belong to him. Today, I had just finished tucking him in bed when he informed me that he was set because he had his flashlight to use tonight. This was news to me since I hadn't given him a flashlight. So I asked him what flashlight and suddenly he was back pedaling trying to get out of the situation. But ever the trustful brother, I asked Nathan what Jacob was talking about and he gave him away. It turns out he took my light to my kindle and was stashing it under his pillow. So I got to have a lovely talk with my son about stealing! Oh vey, make it go away!

Little Boys and the Easter Bunny

Jacob informed me this morning that he is the Easter Bunny. That's correct, he said he has two names now Jacob and the Easter Bunny :) Where does he come up with these things? I just said "oh, is that so?" He was being completely serious. Then when Nathan explained to him this afternoon that the Easter Bunny just wears a bunny costume. Jacob said he can do that too and still be the Easter Bunny. These are the moments of my life right now. My little Easter Bunnies still enjoyed getting their picture with the Easter Bunny and getting to eat some jelly beans this evening.

Prince William and Kate

Prince William and Kate are on my mind tonight. I just watched their show on lifetime. I must admit other than the fact that he comes from the Royal family their relationship seems like a typical romantic relationship. I'm not sure why people make such a big deal out of Royalty and Celebrity. I just don't get into it very much (although I must admit I was curious about their story) so that must say something :) Well sweet dreams.

Spring is in the Air

T-ball has been a lot of work. I just got done downloading pictures of the boys playing and it helps make the time worth it. We also went swimming this weekend at a local Y. It's crazy that they are getting so independent! I had a productive day today and am as ready as possible to go back to work this week. It'll be another busy but good week. Hopefully not to crazy!

Tired T-Ball Mama

Two t-ball games this morning and cold and wind at nine in the morning here! My youngest refused to play in his game. My oldest had a blast! Finally, got some girl time tonight :) Yea!

One of Those Days

This morning started out well. I have my professional life together and headed in the direction I want it. I also have gotten into a fairly regular routine with things at home and having quality time with the boys and also some me time for myself. Then about two hours into my day, why do I want to pull out my hair?!
I put new checks into my wallet about two weeks ago (which I usually only use for daycare costs and my supervision). Well it turns out the checks aren't even from my Oklahoma account but my Pennsylvania account that's been closed for quite awhile. So now I'm working on cleaning up that mess. Also, had my youngest son all set up for preschool next year but once again things didn't go as planned!
At least I ended the night with small group and having great fellowship with friends! Thankful for another day tomorrow.

Ice Cream

Ice cream is my weakness. I love having this treat before bedtime. This is my little secret that I'm sharing with you tonight. Sometime it's just the perfect end to either a perfect day or not so quite perfect day.

Productive Day

I made beef stew today in the crock pot. Then went to work and put in a full day. After that I picked up the boys and came home and mowed the lawn. After our dinner of beef stew we went to the gym so I could do my Zumba class. Then we came home got the boys their baths and ready for bed. It's been a busy day but also a productive day.

Another Week

It's back to work for me. It was a busy weekend and was nice to hang out with the boys. Now working hard again and trying to get some stuff done around the house. Going to try and enjoy the week and make the most of it.

Busy Weekend

This weekend went to fast. Too much to do and not enough time. The boys and I had fun at the zoo for military appreciation day with some other army wives and kiddos today. It was a fun day. Now if I could just get my to do list to magically take care of itself. I guess I'll have to keep busy with getting things done around the house and working this week.

Errands and more errands!

Today was a long day of doing errands after two games of t-ball. One of the games my younger son did not want to play. What a day! It's been productive but I'm hoping for a more successful day tomorrow. The weekends always go so fast, too fast. There is always so much to do and so little time. I try and slow things down and just have fun with the kids sometimes but the stuff never goes away. It's an endless cycle!

Government Shut Down, Oh No You Didn't

I know I'm not as politically involved as I should be but I'm mad today! The Democrats and Republicans need to get it together! Cutting military pay when we make the sacrifices for this country is just plain crazy and a slap across the face! It's rude! I know God is in control but truth be right now I'm just mad. It's not like what we go through isn't hard enough, why don't we just add more insult to it!

T-Ball Mama

When I signed the boys up for t-ball I figured I would need to help out some. Little did I realize that I'd be in the field most of the time with my younger one. Today I helped in the outfield while the coach let the boys take turns batting. I also didn't realize how much I would enjoy getting to invest this time into my boys and into others kids. It's actually quite fun and it's nice to get some fresh air too.

Supervision

First day of my supervision towards my licensing hours. So thankful to start on this phase. Also nice to be reminded why I'm doing what I do for my job. I enjoy working with the crisis pregnancy population, Latino community, and military families. Now to just keep on keeping on. I love how God works it all out!

Fun at the YMCA

Just got a free membership to the YMCA for up to eighteen months as long as my family gets there eight times a month. I started doing Zumba classes there and am really enjoying them. I'm not a good dancer (pretty horrible actually) but love Zumba, I can move even if I can't dance! The boys are doing t-ball there. We have practice Thursday and Friday evenings and games on Saturday mornings. Nathan loves it so far. Jacob is so-so, it depends on his mood if he wants to participate so we shall see how things go. I've also enjoy my free time reading on the Kindle while walking on the treadmill. They even have parent nights out. So far I'm very happy with what the Y has to offer. It's a great outlet and fun activities for the whole family. I'm even trying to get the boys enrolled in swim lessons which they desperately need to learn the skills and I need the peace of mind that they are safer to be in the pool (of course with adult supervision). It just makes me feel better if they can learn to swim with there being only one of me and two of them. They love being in the pool but I want them to have the skills. Time to get them swim lessons for sure.

Back to the Routine Again

Back to work and the gym today. It's nice to get back to a routine. Now if I could make the paperwork go away or just complete itself! Ah, but that is wishful thinking so for now that is all because I need to get back to the paperwork. I know, I know, the exciting life I live.

Freezing

I've learned the art of freezing foods. One of my favorites is chocolate chip pumpkin bread. Yum! Also, love just freezing my leftovers that the boys and I don't finish so we can have them another day or I can take them for lunch. Tomorrow I'm making pork and sauerkraut and going to freeze whatever we don't eat for dinner. Also, loving making crockpot meals. Tonight, I tried a quick and easy recipe from a friend's website. The boys liked it (even though Jacob called it weird, he asked for seconds). Yeah, that makes sense doesn't it.
Tomorrow is back to work and routine around here. A new season in our life, we'll just take it one day at a time and see how it goes. Hope everyone has a fantastic week.

Oh Boy, Oh Boy!

Boys, boys, and more boys. Today was the kick off day for both of my boys t-ball teams. Lots of little boys out their having a blast and some crying going on at the same time. We also have a few girls on our teams too. I thought it was hilarious when my older son was wearing a bright pink helmet to bat and run the bases. My hubby might not get as big as a kick out of that kind of thing but it just makes me smile! Then after the boys games we headed to the safari with a friend and her son. We had a 4,5, and 6 year old with ten times the amount of energy that we had but hey it was a fun day and I'm thinking my boys are going to sleep good tonight. It was gorgeous weather to be out in today so I'm glad we spent the most of our time outside! Too lovely to stay inside today.

A Day with My Boys

I got to spend the day with my boys. This morning I went on a field trip with Nathan to go bowling with his class. Things went well and I had fun with him and his friends. This evening Nathan had t-ball practice and he enjoyed that. Jacob and I had fun throwing the ball with each other. It was such a beautiful day today! I'm loving the warmer weather.
